Become
a CIAC TLO
The Colorado Information Analysis Center (CIAC) Threat Liaison Officer (TLO) Program
is designed to strengthen information sharing and enhance multi-jurisdiction
and multidisciplinary partnerships throughout Colorado. The program was
developed to provide participants with effective means of information sharing
related to local, regional, and global threats, suspicious activity and
large-scale incidents.
A
TLO is any law enforcement (sworn or non-sworn), emergency services, military,
public health, private, non-profit or other public sector employee who has
responsibility within their agency to report and disseminate suspicious
activity and/or other threat-related information and has been properly certified
through the CIAC TLO training program.
Requirements
Applicants
to the TLO program must:
- Be
a U.S. Citizen
- Be
referred by an active TLO or CIAC staff member or partner
- Have
a supervisor or agency representative complete a nomination form
- Successfully
complete a one (1) day TLO certification class
- Participate
in at least two (2) TLO events annually
- Successfully complete a TLO Recertification Class every three (3) years to remain active in the program
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact between your agency and the CIAC during unfolding events.
- Review
threat information and intelligence sent by the CIAC and distribute to relevant
internal stakeholders as appropriate.
- Respond
to CIAC requests for information in a timely manner.
